I’ve been an employee at two different institutions now who utilize KGA as their Employee Assistance Program (EAP). If you’ve been to one of my self care workshops, you know I looooooove EPA’s.
For those who haven’t accessed one before, it’s a free, confidential resource that is accessed through your employer, but is not a part of it.
The EPA doesn’t let your company know whether you have used the services, or which services you have accessed. Total cone of silence.
Over the past 15 years I have used EPA’s for:
Free mindfulness app
Free virtual therapy sessions
Free legal consults (twice!)
Free consult for business taxes
Free nutrition consult
Free copy of Atomic Habits
They also have free webinars on a range of personal and professional topics, support for different aspects of health (emotional, physical, financial, etc.) and support for special populations (ex: parents, eldercare, sleep coaching, career planning.)
If you are currently employed:
I highly recommend checking your HR site to see if you have an EAP. If you do, create an account, and take a scroll through the offerings. There are a lot of interesting resources. And it’s all accessed through a portal that is not connected to your employer.
If you have recently been laid off:
See if EAP access is something you can maintain, even if only temporarily. Some places will let you keep access for a certain number of weeks, or through a severance period.
Curious if there are any other EAP fans in my network? What services have you found beneficial?
(And no, this is #NotSponsored, I’m just a #BigFan)
